Selecting Measurements and Fabrics for an RV Custom Mattress

Regardless of the type of mattress that you are looking for, comfort is essential and you may find that you were limited in your custom mattress choices in the past, but that is no longer an issue especially if you are looking to replace an RV mattress. Possibly the standard issue mattress that came with the particular brand of RV you are driving did not necessarily match your criteria for what you require in a decent night of sleep so here are some tips to getting your the comfort you deserve.

Your RV has a custom mattress and with that being said the measurements are unique. Knowing how to take these accurate measurements is your first step in ordering properly. Start with measuring the width by going from the inside rail to the opposite inside rail where it sits on the foundation. For the length, again measure where it sits on the foundation from the inside of the headboard and foot board. Be sure to note if there are height restrictions with your model.

Next, since you are looking to build a custom RV bed you have a choice on the type of comfort and product that want to sleep on. There are many customized options available to choose from considering your needs. You have moisture reducing fabric, those made specifically for lumbar support, medical beds and heat reducing options. You are not limited in your custom fabric requirements.

With all of this being said about your mattress choices there are also a variety of suppliers depending on your special issues and even regarding the type of Airstream that you own. Consider the type of options that you are looking for and perhaps what problems may arise. You have a choice between suppliers that offer free shipping or even free repair so pick according to what you may have need of after your purchase.

Enjoying your ride in your RV during the day is just as essential as to how you enjoy your sleep at night. You are no longer limited because of the exact specifications that your unique transportation have afforded you in the past. There are suppliers of a custom mattress that not only are made for recent models but any type or age ride that you have.

Producing a talalay latex topper

Latex mattresses and toppers have become some of the most popular products on the market.  Some customers have appreciated the health benefits associated with talalay latex mattresses.  Some customers prove their loyalty due to the product’s ‘green’ characteristics.  Whatever your reasoning, these products are sure to become a fast favorite of yours.
Latex toppers are known to be longer-lasting than the memory foam toppers. Rather than being composed of metal coils that can create pressure points, talalay latex mattresses are made of 100% natural latex. Although the talalay process is extremely intricate, it provides high-quality latex materials.
The main processing steps include: compounding, molding, washing, drying, quality testing, and fabrication.  Each step is vital in creating resilient and consistent latex products.  Technology is the main ingredient for creating talalay latex products.
During the first phase of processing, compounding, several products are mixed together to create a foam-like substance.  These products are, namely, natural liquid latex, synthetic liquid latex, rubber curing agents and soap.  All four products are mixed together using computer technology.  Once the mixture has been whipped into a foam-like substance, it is tested. The temperature, pH levels and viscosity has to be exact in order to move forward with the manufacturing process.  If these levels aren’t exact, the mixture is again whipped until it is pristine.
After the mixture has been whipped into the desired consistency, it is moved via specially designed pipes into the mold.  Each pipe is monitored with a computer system to ensure that certain elements, such as the product’s temperature, remains intact.  Each aluminum mold contains thousand of pins.  Once the mold has been closed, the pins are injected into the mixture to create and ensure an aerated cell structure.  The pins also serve another very important purpose.  Heat is transferred through each pin.  This sub-step of the molding feature allows the mold to be filled evenly.  Then, a vacuum is introduced.  The vacuum allows foam to entirely fill the mold.  From here, carbon dioxide is used to ‘flashfreeze’ the product.  Immediately following, heat is again used to set the material.  Heat allows the latex to bond and form a solid and consistent structure.
Once the latex has been cured using heat technology, it is washed.  The washing process ensures and improves durability.  This step is similar to a vehicle going through a car wash, meaning that the latex is placed on a conveyor belt and washed.
The fourth step of the talalay process is the drying stage.  The product is still on the conveyor belt.  The conveyor belt moves slowly under the dryer to dry any excess water particles.  The drying phase is also the final curing phase for the talalay product.
As with any product, the latex now transitions into the quality testing phase.  The quality testing phase is rigorous, so as to ensure optimal quality and endurance.  The latex firmness is tested and retested, along with the pressure.  Some companies prefer to complete this stage with computers.  Others complete quality testing by hand.  Some even use a combination or computer testing and hand testing.
The fabrication phase is the final manufacturing phase.  Each latex core is cut to size.  In some instances, such as when a larger bed is ordered, several smaller core pieces are cut and a water-soluble glue is used to unite each piece.
Natural latex mattress toppers are becoming more and more popular because of their environmentally sound manufacturing process and due to the natural nature of the product itself.  Latex is automatically more breathable, resilient and longer-lasting than any other product on the market.  They come with a wide array of benefits as well.

Talalay vs. Dunlop: Is There Really A Difference?

You’ve probably heard about latex mattresses.  Latex mattresses have gained popularity in recent years for many reasons.  They offer unprecedented comfort and support during sleep.  They last quite a bit longer than traditional mattresses.  They also provide many health benefits.
There are two main types of latex mattresses: the talalay mattress and the dunlop mattress.  Both mattresses are named after the process by which they are made.  The dunlop process has been used since 1929 while the talalay process uses highly sophisticated technology to produce the latex bed.  Both processes produce high quality latex mattresses.  The questions is, “Is there really a difference between the two?”
In short, the answer is “absolutely.”
While both mattresses are a good quality, it is important to choose the right one for you and your sleeping needs.
The traditionally-produced dunlop mattress is more dense and more firm than the talalay mattresses.  During the manufacturing process, liquid latex is poured into a mattress mold.  The curing phase allow particles from the latex to settle to the bottom of the mold.  This creates a dense mattress.
The talalay process uses six technological steps to create a latex mattress.  At the beginning of the manufacturing process, liquid latex is also poured into a mold.  However, the liquid latex doesn’t reach the brim of the mold, as with the dunlop process.  Rather, a vacuum is used to whip the latex.  This phase creates a more airy mattresses core that isn’t as dense or compact as the dunlop mattress.
If you are looking for high quality natural latex mattress toppers that will last through the years and provide comfort, support and many health benefits, you need to consider a latex mattress.  There are two latex mattresses to choose from: the dunlop mattress and the talalay mattress.  The dunlop mattress is slightly more firm and more dense while the talalay mattress has a more airy feel.  Simply decide which is better for you and start sleeping better today.
By the way, latex is awesome for custom rv beds!

A Few Hints When Buying A Latex Bed

Latex beds offer superior comfort, support, and durability.  If you are in the market for a latex bed, there are some things that you should know before making that final purchase.
For the most part, latex mattresses are more durable than memory foam mattresses.  However, there are those manufacturers out there that try to cut corners on quality in order to save money.  You can’t trust the outcome of the sleep you receive in the hands of these manufacturers.  There are a few things to watch out for to ensure that your mattress is of the highest quality.
First and foremost, the latex mattresses that you consider needs to be “Made in the USA” or “American Made.”  Latex beds that are manufactured in China or India will not be made out of the highest quality materials and they won’t be durable.  Your safest choice lies in mattresses that are made out of American products and that are made in the USA.  You can be sure to get a high quality bed from the United States of America.
You also need to find out how the mattresses are stored.  Latex beds that are manufactured and then immediately rolled up, sealed and placed on a shelf won’t last as long and won’t provide all of the benefits that you are looking for.  A good indicator will be in the product’s desciption.  If the description says something along the lines of, “Core cut to order.”  This means that the latex is not cut or packaged until it has been ordered.  Thus, the integrity of the latex core is maintained.
You also need to be careful about vacuums being used when packaging a latex bed.  Many memory foam and latex beds can be shipped from the manufactuer.  In order to ship these mattresses, the bed must be condensed.  Vacuums are used to remove air from the product.  Find out how long the bed has been sitting in a vacuum sealed package.  Again, the best beds are cut and packaged as they are ordered.
Follow these simple hints to make sure that your latex rv mattress is the quality that it needs to be.  Better sleep is on the way if you check to make sure that the product is made from American materials and is made in the USA and is cut and package with each order.

How does your mattress affect your morning commute?

The morning commute is always a rushed time.  Working moms, dads, teachers, businessmen, and many more hustle from their quiet homes in pursuit of getting to work on time.  The commute is a frantic and hurried time, sometimes filled with bad drivers, inclement weather and wrecks.  Individual suburb cities are filled with people who join carpool after carpool to save money on gas and time in traffic.  After-all, carpools get to use the carpool lane.
But, the morning commute doesn’t have to be this way.
What if everyone involved in the morning commute had had a good night’s sleep the night before?  Imagine smoothly the commute would go.  Drivers would be more courteous and more relaxed.  Everything would just seem to be easier.
Getting a good night’s rest is the key to feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, happy, and calm.  These characteristics seem to be lacking with morning commuters.  However, these characteristics are also critical for smooth traffic.  There would be fewer accidents and less road rage.
My husband traveled an hour each way to work for four and a half years.  During the last year of his commute, he and one of his coworkers began carpooling.  Since his coworker lived a few miles south of where we lived, he would drive to our house and wait for my husband.  On mornings that my husband needed a few extra minutes getting ready, Jon would sleep in his car to catch up on sleep.  He even kept a pillow in his trunk for such occasions.
The first time I heard of the pillow, I was in shock…although I was laughing hysterically.  If only Jon knew what the cause of his sleep deprivation was!  It must have been a worn-down mattress.  If only he knew what could fix his dilemma.  Jon and his wife needed a new custom rv mattress.
Memory foam mattresses provide their sleepers with a good night’s rest.  It doesn’t take long for consumers to become ‘hooked.’  A few benefits of the specialty bed are:
-No more pressure points which means no more morning aches and pains
-A refreshed feeling of rejuvenation each and every morning
-Hypo-allergenic
-Dust mite resistant
-Mold and Mildew resistant
-Breathable
-Comfortable
-Supportive
Memory foam mattresses are the number one selling mattress on the market today because they offer superior comfort for any body type and any type of sleeper.
Imagine how the morning commute would unfold if every driver was using a memory foam bed.  The possibilities are simply endless.

Latex Mattress Bed Advantages and Disadvantages

Latex Mattress Bed Advantages and Disadvantages

Latex mattresses have been around since 1929, but have recently gained a lot of popularity. Latex mattresses have become extremely popular due to the demand for all-organic or natural products. These mattresses receive the highest customer satisfaction ratings and have many more advantages than disadvantages.

Advantages
Latex mattresses are the most comfortable type of mattress on the market today. Over 85 percent of latex mattress owners find these mattresses comfortable. Memory foam, water or air mattresses only get an 80 percent approval rating. Innerspring mattresses only have a 60 percent comfort rating.

Latex mattresses are the most durable mattress on the market today. While consumers need to replace other types of mattresses every 8-10 years, latex mattresses only need to be replaced every 20+ years.

Latex mattresses offer many health benefits because they do not contain harmful chemicals like traditional mattresses do. Latex mattresses are made from natural rubber trees. They are also manufactured naturally. These mattresses are great for people with asthma or allergies because they are naturally hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, dust mite resistant, etc.

9 inch natural latex mattress

Latex mattresses incorporate all of the benefits of memory foam mattresses without the disadvantages. Latex mattresses have a faster response time than memory foam mattresses, which means that it isn’t as difficult to change positions on a latex mattress. Memory foam mattresses tend to be hot to sleep on as well. Latex mattresses incorporate better air flow which doesn’t make it hot to sleep on.

Disadvantages
There are only two disadvantages to latex mattresses. 1) Latex mattresses are more expensive than other types of mattresses. To get a good quality latex mattress, you can expect to pay several thousand dollars. But, you need to keep in mind that these mattresses offer many more benefits and don’t need to be replaced as often. 2) Latex mattresses don’t have much of a track record in the United States. Even though they have been around since 1929, they haven’t been widely manufactured. There aren’t as many customer reviews for latex mattresses because they are still relatively new.

Simply put, latex mattresses are worth every penny. There are many more advantages for using a latex mattress than there are disadvantages. Latex mattresses finally make it much easier to get a good night’s rest.

How To Buy The Right Bed

How To Buy The Right Bed

Buying the right bed just might be the most important decision you ever make. Seriously. You spend approximately one-third of your lifetime asleep. Doesn’t that amount of time deserve a good quality of sleep. Here are the mattresses that you have to choose from. Knowing which mattresses are out there and what benefits they provide will help you buy the right bed.

Air beds
There is nothing else inside an air bed except for air. There is no spring, no foam, no filling of any kind. The air inside the mattress adjusts itself to you when you lie on it. Sometimes, the amount of air inside the mattress can be controlled, especially with high-end air mattresses. There is little up-keep for air mattresses because you don’t need to turn or flip it.

Orthopedic Beds
Don’t these beds just sound medically-inspired? Orthopedic beds are simply beds that are extra firm. No, a team of medical engineers didn’t spend countless hours creating a bed that would provide extra therapeutic support properties. These beds are simply extra-firm to support sleepers with back problems.

Sleep Number Beds
Sleep number beds really make your mattress unique and individualized. These beds use an air system that can be adjusted according to the sleeper’s preference. Sleep numbers range from 1-100. This is a good option for couples because each side can be set at a different sleep number. No more compromising. Each spouse can sleep in his/her own comfort instead of their spouse’s comfort.

Futons
Futons really aren’t intended to be your primary sleeping location. These beds/sofas work great as guest beds. Futon mattresses are becoming more evolved and are a much better quality than they used to be.

Water Beds
Water beds are from the 1980s. right? Well, that is when they made their big hit, but they are still popular today. Water bed technology has become dramatically better in the past few years. The water in a water bed distributes weight evenly, thus eliminating pressure points. Water beds are dust-mite resistant and are also great for people who suffer from allergies. Make sure you buy a water bed that has an inner safety liner to prevent punctures.

Coil/Spring Mattresses
These mattresses aren’t ideal for comfort or support, but are still being sold in high quantities because they are extremely inexpensive. These mattresses need to be replaced more often since they can wear down and can eventually start poking you. If this is the best option for you, choose the coil mattress or innerspring mattress with the highest number of coils or springs. The higher the number of coils or springs…the more support it will provide.

Memory Foam
Memory foam mattresses relieve pressure points and are great for people who need extra comfort and support. Memory foam mattresses use innovative technology that uses your body heat to heat up the foam. This allows it to contour to your individual shape and sleeping position. Memory foam also provides proper spinal alignment, which is sure to lead to a good night’s sleep.

Latex Mattresses
Latex mattresses are becoming extremely popular, but have been around since 1929. These mattresses incorporate all of the benefits of memory foam without being too hot and having a faster response time. Latex mattresses are naturally hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, dust-mite resistant, etc.

When it comes to choosing the right mattress, there are many options to choose from. Make sure you start your mattress shopping prepared by knowing which mattresses are which. This can save you time and money when dealing with those pesky mattress salespeople. Make sure you buy the mattress that is the most comfortable to you and the one that will provide the support that you need.
