Air beds are becoming more and more popular. There are several different kinds of air mattresses that range from inexpensive to expensive. Some air mattresses are made for occasional use while others are made to sleep on every night. Air mattresses get good customer reviews. In fact, customers say some air mattresses are just as comfortable as memory foam mattresses are. Here is a guide that you can use if you are in the market for a new air mattress.

1. Camping Air Mattresses. Most people probably have at least one type of these mattresses. These air mattresses are cheap and can be rolled up. These air mattresses work great for camping trips or house guests. However, these mattresses don’t offer the best quality of sleep. The foam on top makes the entire mattress feel firmer than it actually is. This means that you don’t have to fill the mattress up with as much air. Firm air mattresses are great for anyone who likes firmer mattresses.

3. Plush or Pillow soft air mattresses. Obviously, plush air mattresses are not going to feel as firm as a firm air mattress feels. The foam on the top of the mattress is stitched in a wider pattern. Because the foam isn’t as tight, the mattress isn’t as firm. Plush air mattresses use more foam than firm air mattresses. You’ll get just as much support as a firm air mattress, but it will feel softer. Plush air mattresses are recommended for people who want a medium firmness air mattress.

4. Pillow top. Did you know that there are pillow top air mattresses. The foam of a pillow top air mattress is stitched directly to the mattress. It is also stitched in a featherbed type design. The pillow top air mattress uses the idea of both an air mattress and a memory foam mattress. The foam on a pillow top mattress conforms to you body while you sleep, much like a memory foam mattress would.

As you can see, there are several different types of air mattresses. Air mattresses use air instead of coils to support your body while you sleep. Most times, you can adjust the air setting to different adjustments. Couples really like air mattresses because each side of the bed uses a separate air bladder. This means that each spouse can adjust their side of the bed to the setting that they prefer. There are hundreds or adjustable beds on the market today. You have so many options to choose from. If you are in the market for an adjustable bed, it can be overwhelming to choose from so many different models. Here a handy guide that can help you buy an adjustable bed.

1. Know what it is. First of all, you need to know and understand that adjustable beds are simply the “superstructure” of what you need. Obviously, you can’t buy an adjustable bed without a mattress to go on top of it. You can buy a latex mattress, a memory foam mattress, an air mattress, a water bed or an innerspring mattress to go along with your adjustable bed. Remember, the adjustable bed is simply the bed frame or base.

2. Better than Craftmatic. Most of us are probably vaguely familiar with “Craftmatic” beds. The adjustable beds you can buy today are made from a lighter material than the “old-school” adjustable beds.

3. Noise. Adjustable beds also come with much quieter motors than ever before. The motors aren’t as noisy because they are encased in a special sound dampening structure. Make sure you get an adjustable bed that has a quiet motor so it won’t disturb you or anyone else.

4. Indestructible. You can get an indestructible adjustable bed now. Often times, the bed rollers and other parts are made to be indestructible. They are often made from nylon. Don’t buy an adjustable bed that will break down after only a few uses.

5. Features. Adjustable beds are pretty plush these days. You get to choose form a variety of features including massage features, remote controls, heat settings, safety devices, fail safe devices for power failures, and more. Make sure you know which features are important to you so that you don’t buy something that won’t be beneficial to you.

6. Choose the mattress first. Like I said before, you can choose any type of mattress to go along with your adjustable bed. Choose your mattress before you choose your adjustable bed. You can ensure that you give yourself the best sleep surface possible.

7. Reputable Manufacturer. Buy your adjustable bed from a reputable manufacturer. Don’t assume that the cheapest adjustable bed is the best or worst out there. Be familiar with the manufacturer and make sure that they have positive customer reviews.

8. Easy. Choose an adjustable bed that can be transported easily, assembled easily and has detailed instructions. You don’t want to have trouble getting your mattress home and then have trouble putting it together.

9. Warranty. Make sure your adjustable bed comes with a good warranty. This will protect you from added expenses down the road, should anything go wrong with your bed. You don’t want to buy an adjustable bed now and then have to buy new parts in the next few years.

10. Hospital bed. OK, yes, you are getting an adjustable bed. But, it doesn’t have to look like a hospital bed. Choose an adjustable bed that is aesthetically pleasing. You don’t have to appear like a terminally ill patient just because you want the versatility that an adjustable bed provides.
