You’ve probably heard about latex mattresses.  Latex mattresses have gained popularity in recent years for many reasons.  They offer unprecedented comfort and support during sleep.  They last quite a bit longer than traditional mattresses.  They also provide many health benefits.
There are two main types of latex mattresses: the talalay mattress and the dunlop mattress.  Both mattresses are named after the process by which they are made.  The dunlop process has been used since 1929 while the talalay process uses highly sophisticated technology to produce the latex bed.  Both processes produce high quality latex mattresses.  The questions is, “Is there really a difference between the two?”
In short, the answer is “absolutely.”
While both mattresses are a good quality, it is important to choose the right one for you and your sleeping needs.
The traditionally-produced dunlop mattress is more dense and more firm than the talalay mattresses.  During the manufacturing process, liquid latex is poured into a mattress mold.  The curing phase allow particles from the latex to settle to the bottom of the mold.  This creates a dense mattress.
The talalay process uses six technological steps to create a latex mattress.  At the beginning of the manufacturing process, liquid latex is also poured into a mold.  However, the liquid latex doesn’t reach the brim of the mold, as with the dunlop process.  Rather, a vacuum is used to whip the latex.  This phase creates a more airy mattresses core that isn’t as dense or compact as the dunlop mattress.
If you are looking for high quality natural latex mattress toppers that will last through the years and provide comfort, support and many health benefits, you need to consider a latex mattress.  There are two latex mattresses to choose from: the dunlop mattress and the talalay mattress.  The dunlop mattress is slightly more firm and more dense while the talalay mattress has a more airy feel.  Simply decide which is better for you and start sleeping better today.
By the way, latex is awesome for custom rv beds!
